This MIDAS Academy workshop walks you through the complete modelling of a single span prestressed concrete box girder bridge in MIDAS Civil NX, from the first section definition to the final design checks.
The focus is on construction stage analysis: how the structure is built, how prestressing is applied and how time-dependent effects change the results you use for design.
Don’t miss your chance to join — spaces are limited!
Define the deck alignment and the single span geometry, and build the prestressed box girder section.
Set up tendon profiles and properties, and apply prestress loads to the girder.
Create the construction stages and capture time-dependent effects such as creep, shrinkage and relaxation.
Read stage-by-stage results and run PSC design checks on the critical sections.
No passive demo: you build the model yourself in MIDAS Civil NX, guided step by step.
Every participant works on their own laptop and builds the bridge model from scratch, one guided step at a time.
Work with realistic geometry, tendon layouts and construction stages — not simplified demo data.
Learn to interpret stage results and design checks the way they will be read in a real design review.
David Hognogi is a junior structural engineer focused on the analysis and design of bridge structures, including structural modelling and reinforcement detailing using modern design tools. He is committed to a rigorous, detail-oriented approach and to applying sound engineering principles to real infrastructure projects.

To take part in the hands-on session, please complete the steps below before the event. This way you can start modelling from the very first minute — thank you for preparing in advance.
Make sure it can run MIDAS Civil NX properly (a training license will be provided on the day).
First time using MIDAS? Create your account before the session.
Download MIDAS Civil NX to your laptop – get it here.
All the information you need to activate your license will be sent to the email address registered with your MIDAS Member account – please check your inbox (and spam folder) before the session.
An external mouse is highly recommended for modelling comfort.
One afternoon, limited places in Cluj-Napoca. Registration is required so we can prepare the seats and the training licenses.
Adding this event to your calendar does not reserve your seat. Please complete the registration form below.
