    Session Overview

This MIDAS Academy hands-on training walks you through the complete modelling of a single-span prestressed concrete (PSC) box girder bridge in MIDAS CIVIL NX — from the first section definition to the final design checks.

You will also step into the automation side of CIVIL NX: instead of building everything by hand, see how the Bridge Wizards — such as the FSM Bridge Wizard for PSC box girders — generate the girder geometry, sections, tendons and construction stages from a handful of parameters, and how to take that model all the way to verified results.

    • Automating model generation with CIVIL NX Bridge Wizards
    • Defining the PSC box section and the tendon layout
    • Construction stage analysis with creep, shrinkage and relaxation
    • Reading stage-by-stage results and running PSC design checks

Join us and see how automation and construction stage analysis come together in real PSC bridge design.

This Session Helps You If You’re

    • A bridge or structural engineer working on prestressed concrete girders
    • Looking to cut repetitive modelling time with wizards and automation
    • Needing construction stage analysis as part of your design workflow
    • Wanting to check PSC sections with more confidence and accuracy

    Learning Objectives

    • Generate a PSC box girder model with a CIVIL NX Bridge Wizard and understand what it creates
    • Define the deck geometry and build the prestressed box girder section
    • Set up tendon profiles and properties, and apply prestress loads
    • Create construction stages and capture creep, shrinkage and relaxation
    • Interpret stage-by-stage results and run PSC design checks on critical sections

Structurist Junior | Costin și Vlad Birou de Proiectare

David Hognogi is a junior structural engineer focused on the analysis and design of bridge structures, including structural modelling and reinforcement detailing using modern design tools. He is committed to a rigorous, detail-oriented approach and to applying sound engineering principles to real infrastructure projects.

    Key Features of the Session

    • Wizard-Driven Modelling (CIVIL NX)Bridge Wizards build the girder geometry, sections, tendons and construction stages from a few inputs.
    • 100% Hands-OnEvery participant builds the model on their own laptop, guided step by step.
    • Construction Stage AnalysisPrestressing and time-dependent effects followed stage by stage, as the bridge is built.
    • PSC Design ChecksVerification of the critical sections, read the way a design review reads them.
    • A Real Bridge WorkflowRealistic geometry, tendon layouts and construction stages — not simplified demo data.
    • Move from manual modelling to automated, verified PSC bridge design.
