This webinar brings together two applied sessions for structural engineers: how APIs let your engineering software talk to each other, and how to model and verify the strengthening of existing masonry buildings.
In the first session, Michele Polastri (MIDAS Account Manager, Benelux) shows how scripted workflows can connect analysis, design, BIM, spreadsheets and internal tools, so data is entered once and reused instead of being retyped.
In the second session, Dr. Oğuz Uzdil (Istanbul Aydın University) follows a masonry retrofit from deficiency assessment to FRP and TRM strengthening, and compares the original and strengthened models to verify the intervention.
Key highlights include:
Join us to see how to stop repeating and start connecting, and how to prove a strengthening works!

Michele is an engineering software professional with extensive experience supporting civil and structural engineers in adopting advanced digital solutions. As MIDAS Account Manager for the Benelux region, his focus is helping new users get started with confidence and making technology practical and accessible from day one. Michele believes users should never feel alone, placing continuous support, knowledge sharing and long-term relationships at the heart of the approach.

Dr. Oğuz Uzdil is a civil engineer and lecturer at Istanbul Aydın University in Istanbul, Türkiye. He holds a PhD in Civil Engineering from Istanbul University. His research focuses on the seismic assessment and strengthening of masonry and historic structures, with particular expertise in finite-element modelling, performance-based evaluation, and linear and nonlinear structural analysis. He has published extensively in international Q1 and Q2 journals, as well as in book chapters and conference proceedings.
