Overview

This in-person seminar in Athens brings MIDAS IT Europe together with Greek engineering practice for an evening of applied structural engineering with MIDAS GEN NX.

The programme opens with a speech by Prof. Christos Zeris (NTUA), followed by Minoas V. Bampatsikos (MIDAS IT Europe) on steel structure buckling checks under the new Eurocodes in MIDAS GEN NX.

After the coffee break, Dimitris Mouroukis (Omikron Kappa) presents the assessment of a 22-floor concrete building in GEN NX, and Yassine Kammoun (MIDAS IT Europe) closes the technical programme with the next step for GEN NX in Greece: the ΚΑΝ.ΕΠΕ API.

Prof. Christos Zeris

Professor, National Technical University of Athens (NTUA)

Christos Zeris, PhD, is currently Professor of Civil Engineering and Member of the Laboratory of RC Structures at the NTUA, where he teaches concrete design for conventional, earthquake and blast loading, as well as testing and in situ assessment of concrete structures. Prior to joining NTUA, he worked as a registered structural engineer in the design and supervision of concrete works.

Minoas V. Bampatsikos

Technical Engineer, MIDAS IT Europe

Minoas is a Civil and Structural Engineer, holding an M.Eng. in Civil Engineering and an M.Sc. in Structural Engineering both from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). He also holds an International/European Welding Engineer (IWE/EWE) diploma (EQF 7) and is currently pursuing his PhD at the Steel Structures Laboratory of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). His professional and research expertise focuses on steel, composite, and reinforced concrete structures, with an emphasis on advanced numerical analysis and modeling. His work combines practical engineering applications with academic research .

Dimitris Mouroukis

Principal Bridge/Structural Engineer, Omikron Kappa Consulting SA

Dimitris is Structural/Bridge Engineer, MSc, with over 22 years of national and international experience in major infrastructure projects, including bridges, stations, buildings, and tunnels. Specialized in structural and seismic design according to Eurocodes and international standards, with extensive experience leading multidisciplinary design teams from concept to detailed design.

Yassine Kammoun

Technical Engineer, MIDAS IT Europe

Yassine is a civil engineer who bridges structural detailing and analysis software. With a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering and experience producing reinforcement and detail drawings for bridges and residential buildings, he gained hands-on insight into how design intent becomes a buildable structure. He now works as a Technical Engineer at MIDAS IT Europe, responsible for MIDAS GEN NX, helping engineers model, analyze, and design building structures more efficiently.
