Soil-Structure Interaction Made Practical:
From Gen NX to GTS NX with NX Interact
    12:30 (AEST) / 10:30 (HKT/UTC+8)
Location : Online (Webinar link will be sent to you)
✨ Overview

Soil-Structure Interaction, or  SSI, plays an important role in accurately evaluating the behavior of structures supported by or embedded in the ground. However, engineers often face challenges when connecting structural models with geotechnical analysis environments, especially when model transfer, interaction setup, convergence, and result interpretation are involved.

In this webinar, we will introduce the fundamental concept of SSI and demonstrate a practical workflow using MIDAS Gen NX, GTS NX, and NX Interact. Participants will learn how to import a structural model from Gen NX into GTS NX, define the interaction between the structure and the surrounding ground, and review the analysis results with a focus on convergence and engineering interpretation.

Through a live demonstration, this session will provide engineers with a clear understanding of how to set up and verify an SSI model efficiently using the MIDAS NX workflow.

📝 Learning Objectives

- Understand the key concept and  importance of Soil-Structure Interaction.
- Set up an SSI model in GTS NX using a model imported from Gen NX.
- Follow the NX Interact workflow for integrated structure-ground analysis.
- Analyze SSI results and check convergence behavior.
- Apply the demonstrated workflow to practical engineering projects.

Speaker
  • Siddhartha Pathak

    Technical Support Engineer

Dr. Siddharth Pathak is a Technical Support Engineer at the MIDAS R&D Centre, Navi Mumbai, specializing in geotechnical numerical modelling with MIDAS GTS NX.

He holds a Ph.D. in Geotechnical Engineering, where his research focused on strain-rate effects in sand and pile behaviour under rapid load tests. Before joining MIDAS, he gained valuable industry and consultancy experience in geotechnical design, including slope stability, deep foundations, and ground improvement.

  • Sumant Kushwaha

    Technical Support Engineer

Has 5+ years of consultancy experience in global infrastructure and building design, specializing in structural analysis and MIDAS Gen NX technical support.
Experienced in concrete, steel, with expertise in finite element analysis, code-based design, and nonlinear seismic performance of RC structures.
