    This session includes theoretical background explanation for Deep Excavations. Advanced features and analysis capabilities available in MIDAS GTS NX catering to this application will also be explained during the session such as Eurocode partial factors simulation in Non-Linear Construction stage analysis for an excavation, importing CAD files in the program and then creating the final model out of it, etc. Participants can also repeat also the modelling and analysis steps simultaneously to get a Hands-On Learning experience for MIDAS GTS NX as the training will cover all the steps from scratch.

    A. Yes. Water infiltration can be modeled using boundary conditions such as Surface Flux, which allows simulation of water entering the ground. By incorporating this into the analysis, changes in pore pressure and effective stress can be captured, enabling more accurate prediction of settlement behavior. Depending on the model setup, coupling with seepage analysis may further improve reliability.

    It is related to geometry modeling, such geometry with variable sheet pile thickness can also be created, and with a greater number of excavation faces, GTS NX has options for those. In such cases, you can define Time Step to include time delay between excavation and support installation.
