This modern multi-lane highway connects the southwest of the city, including the sea port area, with the Ring Road on Vasilievsky Island in Kurortny district and Scandinavia motorway.

This is one of the first projects in Russia carried out on concession basis.

The road includes a great number of engineering structures to cross the densely developed urban territory and water areas, including the vast spaces of the Neva Bay.
