This session offers an end-to-end learning experience for structural and seismic engineers, built around real projects from Greece, one of Europe’s most seismically active regions. By combining expert-led seminars with hands-on training, participants gain practical insight into seismic design and assessment in a demanding, real-world context.
The seminar, taking place on March 12, explores how seismic design requirements influence structural systems and key engineering decisions through Greek building and bridge case studies. The session focuses on real challenges faced in practice, highlighting how design concepts are applied under local conditions and project constraints.
The hands-on training sessions, held on March 17 and March 18, are directly linked to the seminar content and provide participants with the opportunity to model complete structures from start to finish using MIDAS software. Guided step by step by MIDAS experts, engineers will apply the concepts discussed in the seminar to realistic scenarios inspired by projects in Greece, following the full workflow from modelling to analysis.
By connecting theory with practice and grounding the learning experience in Greek seismic engineering applications, this program enables participants to confidently apply seismic design principles to real projects in high-seismic regions.
