A one-day, in-person seminar bringing together bridge and geotechnical engineers to explore composite bridge design, API-driven automation, and soil-structure interaction, presented by industry experts alongside the MIDAS IT Europe technical team.
Hosted in Iași, this in-person seminar brings together practising bridge engineers and the MIDAS IT Europe technical team for a day of applied, project-driven presentations: comparing classical hand calculations against a staged-construction MIDAS model on a Eurocode composite bridge, showing how APIs and Excel-driven workflows automate culvert design, and walking through the soil-structure interaction analysis of a real Romanian integral bridge currently under construction.
Whether you work on infrastructure design, structural assessment, or geotechnical analysis, the sessions are built around real engineering workflows and real project examples, followed by open discussion over coffee.
Bridge, structural and geotechnical engineers working on infrastructure design and analysis
One-day in-person seminar with three technical talks, a coffee break, and open discussion
Technical University Gheorghe Asachi, Iași, Romania
Each session is grounded in an actual project from the speaker's own practice.
Eurocode verification through staged construction, creep & shrinkage, and prestressing, checked by hand and in MIDAS.
An Excel ↔ Midas Connector ↔ Civil NX workflow that removes repetitive modelling steps from culvert analysis.
A Romanian integral bridge under construction, modelled with pile-soil springs in Civil NX, with a look at extending into GTS NX.
By the end of the day, you'll see how bridge and geotechnical projects move from calculation to a verified, automated MIDAS workflow.
See how classical Eurocode stress calculations compare against a staged-construction MIDAS model on a real composite bridge.
Learn how Excel, APIs and Midas Connector cut modelling time and improve consistency in day-to-day design work.
Walk through soil-structure interaction on a real integral bridge under construction, from pile springs to a full GTS NX model.
With 29 years of international experience in bridge and structural engineering, Marian is a Chartered Civil Engineer (ICE, UK) who has delivered major railway and highway infrastructure projects across the US, Europe and the Middle East. His expertise spans the design, analysis, and detailing of reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete, steel, and composite bridge structures.
Matacena holds a Master's degree in Structural and Geotechnical Engineering from the University Federico II of Naples, Italy. Since 2019, he has been working in Romania, building his career in the design of major infrastructure projects. He is currently a Structural Engineer at Egis Romania, where he is involved in the design of bridges, retaining structures and tunnels. His expertise includes the use of Midas Civil and GTS NX, with a strong interest in improving engineering workflows through efficient and innovative solutions.
Rohith is the Senior Geotechnical Engineer at MIDAS IT Europe. He has more than 3 years of experience in the geotechnical engineering industry, specialising in finite element modelling and analysis. Rohith brings a balanced perspective combining software expertise with industry experience in engineered ground solutions, enabling practical and technically robust modelling strategies.
As part of the technical team at MIDAS, Rohith has been involved in the continuous advancement of MIDAS GTS NX by translating complex engineering problems into efficient computational workflows and supporting consultants, contractors and researchers in delivering reliable and optimized design.
The seminar takes place on campus at the Technical University Gheorghe Asachi in Iași.
Full room details and access instructions will be shared with registered attendees ahead of the event.
