Engineering Smarter Infrastructure in Romania
Connect, Automate & Integrate with MIDAS

📍Bucharest (Tue | Mar 10, 2026): Novotel Bucharest City Centre
📍Cluj Napoca (Tue | Mar 17, 2026): Golden Tulip Ana Dome
✏️Session Overview

The MIDAS Romania Engineering Seminar Series brings together leading professionals in structural, geotechnical, bridge, and seismic engineering across Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca.

These events showcase how automation, interoperability, and integrated analysis workflows can transform the way infrastructure and building projects are delivered in Romania.

Across both cities, participants will explore:

✅ Excel-based automation and Open API workflows

✅ Structural–geotechnical interaction modeling

✅ Parametric and analysis-ready engineering processes

✅ Seismic assessment and retrofit strategies for critical buildings

From bridge engineering to hospital retrofitting, this seminar series demonstrates how connected technologies improve productivity, accuracy, and project resilience.

👀 Who Should Attend

This seminar series is designed for:

- Structural and bridge engineers seeking to improve efficiency through automation and integrated digital workflows
-Civil engineers working on bridge and building projects who want to streamline modeling, analysis, and data management processes
- Professionals interested in connecting structural and geotechnical analysis within a consistent soil–structure interaction framework
- BIM managers and design coordinators aiming to implement parametric modeling, interoperability, and Single Source of Truth (SSOT) principles
- Engineers looking to leverage MIDAS Civil NX, MIDAS Gen, and GTS NX for API-based integration, Excel-driven automation, and analysis-ready model generation

👉 A basic understanding of structural engineering principles is recommended. No advanced MIDAS experience is required.

🧑‍🏫 Seminar in Bucharest
  • Session 1:

Automatization of bridge engineering with Midas Connector 🎙️Speaker: Mihai Predescu @Integrated Road Solutions
📝This presentation introduces a high-efficiency workflow for PSC bridge design by bridging Midas Civil NX with Excel through the Open API Connector. The speaker will demonstrate how to synchronize vast amounts of model data with spreadsheet tables, allowing for rapid bulk editing and real-time updates back into the software

  • Session 2:

Design project application using MIDAS Gen and GTS NX 🎙️Speaker: Ionuț Emil Iancu @SDC Proiect and @Technical University of Cluj-Napoca
📝This presentation showcases an integrated structural–geotechnical workflow using MIDAS Gen and GTS NX. A structural model is analyzed to obtain foundation reactions, then linked to a 3D nonlinear soil model to capture soil–structure interaction. The results are used to calibrate soil stiffness and refine the overall structural response.

  • Coffee Break

Coffee Break ☕ Networking with the engineers

  • Session 3:

CVBP Bridge - An integrated BIM solution for smarter infrastructure 🎙️Speaker: Radu Felecan @Costin și Vlad Birou de Proiectare
📝CVBP Bridge is a powerful parametric processor developed in Grasshopper (Rhino) that generates complete virtual bridge models from a minimal amount of user input. The resulting models are intelligently structured to act as a single source of truth, supporting two primary workflows: direct export to common geometry formats (including IFC) and high-fidelity conversion into native models for specialized design (Tekla Structures) and structural analysis (MIDAS NX) software through API integration.

  • Q&A

Q&A Session with speakers ❓Attendees will have the opportunity to engage directly with the speakers during a dedicated Q&A session.

  • Session 3:

Seismic Assessment and Retrofit Strategy for an Existing Reinforced Concrete Hospital Building in Romania 🎙️Speaker: Antonio Andrei Cristian @Anotech Romania
📝Romania’s healthcare infrastructure is largely aging and requires significant upgrades. For critical hospital buildings, seismic performance must ensure not only life safety but also operational continuity after major earthquakes. This presentation covers the seismic assessment and retrofit recommendations for an existing reinforced concrete hospital building in Romania, addressing both structural safety and functional performance.
