Hosted in London, this in-person seminar brings together Stanislaw Bolanowski and Manoj Kheterpal for an evening of practical, demo-driven presentations on how large language models are changing everyday structural engineering workflows.
See an AI agent automate bridge design in Midas Civil NX, from local operation to shared team workflows, and learn how custom MIDAS plug-ins can be built with Claude. Then continue the conversation over drinks and networking with peers and the MIDAS IT Europe team.
Bridge and structural engineers curious about applying AI and automation to their design workflows
Evening in-person seminar with technical sessions and open networking
Follow an AI agent as it designs a steel–concrete composite road bridge through preliminary, developed and detailed stages in Midas Civil NX via its API. Eurocode checks run on every result, with the engineer making the final decisions after each phase.
Explore local operation on a single GPU with data kept in the office, and a shared team agent through Slack or Microsoft Teams. A live Slack demo shows the agent building a Midas model from a brief.
See how custom MIDAS plug-ins can be built with Claude, turning engineering ideas into working automation tools.

Session: Using an AI agent with Midas Civil NX: working for the engineer, scaling to multiple users
An AI agent builds and solves a steel–concrete composite road bridge in Midas Civil NX through its API, progressing from preliminary to developed and detailed design. Eurocode checks run on every result; early options are screened efficiently, and only shortlisted designs receive a detailed model. The engineer makes the final decisions after every phase.
A defined workflow and contract limit the agent’s decisions. Each stage is checked against the files it produces, using checks written independently of the agent. The presentation compares a local, single-GPU setup that keeps data in the office with a shared agent accessed through Slack or Microsoft Teams, where jobs are queued, attributed and logged. In the live demo, a brief submitted in Slack becomes a Midas model in front of the audience.

Manoj is an Account Manager at MIDAS IT Europe, supporting engineering firms across the UK and Ireland. With a Master’s degree in Structural Engineering and experience spanning structural analysis, finite element modelling, engineering software, and technical sales, he works closely with consultants to help them adopt efficient digital workflows using MIDAS solutions.
He has a strong interest in structural engineering automation, APIs, AI-assisted engineering workflows, and practical applications of finite element analysis, and regularly works at the intersection of engineering, technology, and business.
