Dr. Markel Baballëku
Dr. Markel Baballëku is a structural engineer and associate professor at the Polytechnic University of Tirana, with 25 years of experience in structural and earthquake engineering. He holds a PhD in Seismic Damage Assessment and has extensive expertise in seismic codes, structural vulnerability analysis, nonlinear structural analysis, and seismic retrofitting.

Dr. Baballëku is also the founder of UTS-01, an Albanian engineering consultancy established in 2007, specializing in structural design, infrastructure engineering and seismic risk assessment.

Esmeralda Curri
Esmeralda is a Civil (Structural) Engineer with a Master's degree from the Polytechnic University of Tirana and over three years of experience in structural design and construction supervision, specializing in the modelling, analysis, and design of reinforced concrete structures.

She has recently expanded her expertise to MIDAS software, currently applying it to the structural modelling and analysis of a multi-story building project in Durrës. Esmeralda is dedicated to delivering accurate and reliable structural solutions, and looks forward to sharing her practical experience with MIDAS at the seminar.

Mirela Kllogjri
Mirela Kllogjri is a structural engineer and assistant lecturer at POLIS University, with extensive experience in structural design and Building Information Modeling (BIM). She holds a Master of Science in Structural Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Tirana.

Her expertise spans structural engineering, BIM methodologies, concrete structures, and computational design tools. Mirela has worked on various engineering projects, specializing in BIM execution, structural modelling, and advanced construction technologies, while actively contributing to academic research and higher education.

Hamlet Selimaj
Hamlet is a Senior Structural Engineer with more than 7 years of professional experience in the design and analysis of civil and structural works, with particular expertise in railway infrastructure projects. His experience includes the structural design of bridges, underpasses, overpasses, retaining structures, stations, and other civil works associated with complex railway developments.

He has extensive experience in structural modelling and analysis using MIDAS Civil and MIDAS Gen, applying advanced numerical methods to support safe, efficient, and technically robust design solutions. His work combines strong analytical skills with practical design experience and close coordination within multidisciplinary project teams. For this seminar, Hamlet will focus on the application of MIDAS Gen, presenting its use in structural modelling, analysis, and design through practical engineering examples.
