A one-day, in-person seminar for bridge and geotechnical engineers, covering timber footbridge design trends, steel railway bridge analysis, and monitoring-based back-analysis for excavation and retaining walls — presented by industry experts and the MIDAS IT Europe technical team.
Hosted in Vilnius, this in-person seminar brings together practising bridge engineers and the MIDAS IT Europe technical team for an afternoon of applied, project-driven presentations: why timber footbridges are becoming a sustainable, eco-friendly design trend, dynamic and construction-stage analysis of a steel railway bridge, and back-analysis of monitoring data for excavation and retaining wall projects using GTS NX.
Whether you work on infrastructure design, structural assessment, or geotechnical analysis, the sessions are built around real engineering workflows, followed by a coffee break and open networking.
Bridge, structural and geotechnical engineers working on infrastructure design and analysis
Afternoon in-person seminar with two technical sessions, a coffee break, and open networking
Art City Inn, Vilnius, Lithuania
By the end of the session, you'll see how bridge and geotechnical projects move from design to a verified, monitored MIDAS workflow.
See why timber footbridges are gaining ground as an environmentally friendly alternative, and how they're designed and analysed in practice.
See dynamic analysis and construction-stage analysis applied to a real steel railway bridge project.
Walk through back-analysis of excavation and retaining wall projects in GTS NX, using real monitoring data to calibrate the model.
Cristian Ioan Timbolmas is a Bridge Design Engineer and PhD in Civil Engineering with 8+ years of experience in structural and bridge engineering. He holds a PhD from the University of Granada, where his research focused on timber and composite structural systems, and has contributed to multidisciplinary bridge and railway infrastructure projects across Europe. His work has been published in international engineering journals, covering topics including timber bridges, structural behaviour, and innovative bridge design. Combining practical engineering experience with academic research, Cristian brings a strong perspective on the design, analysis, and development of modern bridge structures.

Rohith is the Senior Geotechnical Engineer at MIDAS IT Europe. He has more than 3 years of experience in the geotechnical engineering industry, specialising in finite element modelling and analysis. Rohith brings a balanced perspective combining software expertise with industry experience in engineered ground solutions, enabling practical and technically robust modelling strategies.
As part of the technical team at MIDAS, Rohith has been involved in the continuous advancement of MIDAS GTS NX by translating complex engineering problems into efficient computational workflows and supporting consultants, contractors and researchers in delivering reliable and optimized design.
The seminar takes place at Art City Inn in Vilnius.
Full room details and access instructions will be shared with registered attendees ahead of the event.
