The first part of this session introduces MIDAS GEN NX to structural engineers. Michele Polastri, MIDAS Account Manager for the Benelux region, walks through the vision behind the next generation of structural engineering software and demonstrates a complete building workflow — from design and analysis to detailing and reporting — in one integrated, Eurocode-based environment.
The second part turns to a specialized technical challenge: the seismic analysis and performance assessment of masonry buildings. Dr. Oğuz Uzdil walks through the full process — from selecting a modelling approach and defining geometry, stories and grids, to assigning masonry walls, beams and floor elements, running modal and response spectrum analyses, and assessing performance using examples from his own published studies.
Structural engineers new to MIDAS GEN NX, and engineers working on seismic assessment of masonry structures
Live technical webinar in two parts, with Q&A after each
MIDAS GEN NX — Eurocode-based design, detailing and seismic analysis workflow
Getting started with GEN NX, then a complete seismic performance assessment of masonry buildings
By the end of this live session, you'll understand how to get started with MIDAS GEN NX and how to carry out a full seismic assessment of masonry buildings, with live Q&A after each speaker.
See how the platform supports structural engineers step by step, from a first model to a complete Eurocode-based analysis and design workflow.
Follow a complete building workflow — analysis, design, detailing and reporting — without switching between disconnected tools.
Choose the right modelling approach, define stories and grids, and assign walls, beams, floors, supports and connection conditions.
Set up load combinations and response spectrum, run modal and response spectrum analyses, and assess performance against published case studies.
One continuous live session, run in two parts, with Q&A after each.
Meet MIDAS GEN NX and the vision behind it — a complete Eurocode-based workflow from design to detailing and reporting, built to cut repetitive work in a modern, connected environment.

Dr. Oğuz Uzdil
Michele is an engineering software professional with extensive experience supporting civil and structural engineers in adopting advanced digital solutions. As MIDAS Account Manager for the Benelux region, his focus is helping new users get started with confidence and making technology practical and accessible from day one.
Michele believes users should never feel alone, placing continuous support, knowledge sharing and long-term relationships at the heart of the approach.

Dr. Oguz Uzdil is a civil engineer and lecturer at Istanbul Aydın University in Istanbul, Türkiye. He holds a PhD in Civil Engineering from Istanbul University. His research focuses on the seismic assessment and strengthening of masonry and historic structures, with particular expertise in finite-element modelling, performance-based evaluation, and linear and nonlinear structural analysis.
He has published extensively in international Q1 and Q2 journals, as well as in book chapters and conference proceedings. His work combines modal, response-spectrum and pushover analyses with practical numerical modelling, including case studies of traditional masonry buildings, historic schools, mosques, and timber–masonry structures.
