    Analysis of Earth Retention Structure
    Using Numerical Modelling

    📝 Overview
Earth retention structures play a critical role in ensuring stability and safety in excavations, infrastructure corridors, river training works, and slope support systems. With increasing project complexity and urban constraints, conventional design approaches are often insufficient to capture real ground–structure interaction. Numerical modelling provides engineers with deeper insight into soil behavior, structural response, and construction stage effects.

This two-day technical webinar focuses on the practical analysis and design of commonly used earth retention systems using MIDAS GTS NX, an advanced finite element–based geotechnical analysis software. Participants will learn how to simulate real field conditions, model soil–structure interaction, and interpret engineering results for safe and economical designs.
    📌 Agenda
    • 12th Feb 2026 (Thu)

Covers the modelling and design evaluation of sheet pile walls, including soil profiling, construction stage simulation, groundwater effects, and interpretation of bending moments, displacements, and stability.

    • 13th Feb 2026 (Fri)

Focuses on gabion walls, addressing mass stability, foundation behaviour, deformation analysis, and performance under various loading conditions. The session is ideal for geotechnical and structural engineers involved in excavation, slope, and retaining structure design who want practical, FEM-based insights for safer and more economical projects.
