📝 Workshop Overview
India's infrastructure growth has accelerated the adoption of Prestressed Concrete (PSC) I-Girder bridges, demanding faster, more accurate, and code-compliant designs. This workshop provides a practical, project-based approach to the modelling, analysis, and design of PSC Composite I-Girder bridges using CIVIL NX, aligned with IRC 112 and IRC 6 requirements.

Through real-world bridge design examples, participants will learn complete bridge engineering workflows, including girder modelling, tendon profiling, construction stage analysis, design verification, and report generation. The workshop also includes automation using APIs and plug-ins to streamline repetitive tasks, improve accuracy, and enhance engineering productivity for modern infrastructure projects.
01
Model
Develop complete PSC Composite I-Girder bridge models including girder geometry, tendon profiles, construction stages, loading, and structural analysis using CIVIL NX.
02
Design
Perform design verification in accordance with IRC 112 and IRC 6, evaluate construction-stage behaviour, generate engineering reports, and optimize bridge designs for practical projects.
03
Automate
Utilize APIs and plug-ins to automate repetitive engineering workflows, improve modelling accuracy, reduce manual effort, and accelerate project delivery.

Hands-on Training on analysis and design of a curved 2-span PSC I-girder bridge with substructure as per IRC 112
➤ Geometric modelling of PSC composite girder bridge and substructure using Wizard.
➤ Time-dependent concrete and PSC & RC section properties definition.
➤ Construction stage analysis and report generation using API / Plugin.
➤ Vehicle load generation as per IRC 6 and moving load lane definition using API / Plugin.
➤ Modelling of pile foundation using API / Plugin and Soil-Structure Interaction.
➤ Automated load combinations as per IRC 6.
➤ Moving load analysis and identifying governing load combinations from envelope results using API / Plugin.
➤ Interpretation of bridge behaviour by visualizing stresses, bending moments, shear force diagrams, PSC tendon losses during each construction stage and critical vehicle positions.
➤ PSC composite bridge design checks and report generation as per IRC 112 for ULS & SLS.
➤ Detailed section capacity checks for pier and pile using General Section Designer (GSD).
