This intensive hands-on workshop is designed to equip practicing bridge engineers with a comprehensive and practical understanding of steel composite bridge analysis and design using MIDAS CIVIL NX. The program focuses on real-world project workflows followed by leading bridge consultants and infrastructure companies, going beyond basic software operation. Participants will learn to develop accurate analytical models, define composite sections correctly, and simulate realistic staged construction sequences.
The session covers effective modelling of steel girders and deck slabs, activation of composite action, and application of moving load cases in accordance with relevant design standards. Engineers will gain practical insights into load combinations, envelope generation, and efficient extraction of critical design forces for both steel and concrete components. Special emphasis is placed on optimizing modelling strategies to minimize errors, improve efficiency, and enhance productivity. By the end of the workshop, participants will be confident in independently modelling, analyzing, and interpreting results for steel composite bridges, enabling faster project delivery and improved design accuracy.
