📝 Workshop Overview

This seminar provides an overview of the key considerations involved in analysing and designing foundations for high-rise structures, with emphasis on understanding site-specific ground conditions, selecting appropriate foundation systems, and evaluating soil-structure interaction.
The session focuses on three case studies of high-rise projects in the Mumbai region, highlighting foundation behaviour under different site-specific ground conditions. The first case study covers the analysis and design of shallow foundations, considering interaction between multiple structures within a site as well as adjacent existing buildings. The second case study examines the design and performance of shallow foundations constructed at different foundation levels, while the third explores the analysis and design of pile foundations in areas with highly variable rock strata. The seminar also includes a hands-on session on modelling and analysis of isolated foundations and settlement evaluation using MIDAS GTS NX, providing participants with practical experience in foundation modelling and analysis. |
