This in-person seminar, held in collaboration with Engineering New Zealand, explores practical engineering workflows for infrastructure projects in the New Zealand context. The session brings together industry experts from Auckland Transport, Holmes, and MIDAS IT to share real-world approaches to bridge asset management, structural and seismic design, moving load analysis, and geotechnical slope stability assessment. Topics include managing Auckland’s bridge network, bridge seismic design with nonlinear pushover analysis, NZ Bridge Manual-based moving load workflows, MIDAS Hyper-S analysis capabilities, and slope stability assessment in line with NZGS guidelines. Participants will gain practical insight into applying MIDAS CIVIL NX, GEN NX, and GTS NX to improve design accuracy, workflow efficiency, and decision-making across New Zealand infrastructure projects.

Description
In this session, we will present practical engineering workflows for infrastructure projects in New Zealand, focusing on bridge asset management, structural and seismic design, moving load analysis, and geotechnical slope stability assessment. The session brings together industry experts from Auckland Transport, Holmes, and MIDAS IT to share real project applications, local design considerations, and engineering approaches aligned with New Zealand standards and guidelines.
The seminar will highlight a range of infrastructure workflows, from managing Auckland’s bridge network and applying nonlinear pushover analysis for bridge seismic design, to performing NZ Bridge Manual-based moving load analysis and using MIDAS Hyper-S for improved analysis productivity. Attendees will also gain practical insight into slope stability assessment under NZGS guidelines, including FEM-based approaches, back analysis, and data-driven calibration for more reliable geotechnical evaluation.
