Technical In-Person Seminar
Project Insights & New Features with midas Civil NX in Canada
MIDAS is creating a space for engineers to share their expertise and experience with one another. Moving beyond the usual product presentations, we are inviting practicing engineers to speak from their own perspective how they approach bridge analysis, how they think about FEM, and what they take into account along the way to help you expand your own practice.
If you are interested in bridge design, or want to see what is happening on current projects and in the areas you hope to grow into, this seminar can be your first step.

Senior Bridge Design Engineer
Shervin is a senior bridge engineer with experience in the analysis, design, and construction-stage assessment of conventional, complex, and long-span bridges, with particular depth in nonlinear finite element analysis, redundancy and damaged-state evaluation, seismic response analysis, load rating, and temporary works.
Non-linear Finite Element Modeling for Structural Redundancy Assessment of Bridges
A walkthrough of how to evaluate structural redundancy in bridges using midas Civil and midas FEA NX. Shervin will show how parametric geometry creation ties the two together to study alternative load paths, localized member damage, and how forces redistribute through the structural system.

Bridge Engineering Technical Lead
Yasser has more than 18 years of experience in structural engineering across academia and industry, with a focus on the analysis, design, and rehabilitation of complex highway and railway bridges. He has led several major bridge projects across Canada and is MTO RAQS-qualified in bridge rehabilitation, single-span design and evaluation, and complex multi-span structures.
midas Civil for Different Bridge Applications
A look at how midas Civil can be used to model and analyze a wide range of bridge systems and challenging structural applications. Yasser will walk through practical modeling approaches, analysis techniques, and the key engineering considerations for evaluating how different bridge types behave.

Technical Manager
Mahesh works at the MIDAS R&D Centre in India and holds a Master's degree in Structural Dynamics from IIT Roorkee. He specializes in bridge design and analysis, earthquake-resistant design, and finite element modelling, and has been involved in the design and review of numerous bridge projects. He has led workshops and training sessions for engineers around the world and works regularly with Indian, American, and Australian design codes.
API and upcoming features for Canada
A practical look at running midas Civil NX through its API, with worked examples you can apply to your own projects. Mahesh will also go through what's new in the latest updates, including CSA S6:25.
