📝 Overview

|
This 1-day instructor-led course focuses on the practical implementation of MIDAS GTS NX for the analysis and design of pile raft foundations. The course provides participants with a structured understanding of advanced finite element modelling techniques, appropriate model input parameters, and Soil-Structure Interaction (SSI) principles for piled foundation systems.
Through practical modelling workflows and engineering-focused demonstrations, participants will learn how to develop reliable FE models for piles and pile rafts, select suitable constitutive soil behaviour, and understand the differences between modelling piles as solid volumes and as beam elements. The course also covers the different stages of FE analysis and their application to piled foundation design. Participants will gain practical insights into pile group and piled raft behaviour, enabling them to better understand soil-structure interaction and apply advanced numerical analysis techniques to real-world geotechnical engineering problems using GTS NX. |
