Curved Steel Composite Load Rating
Hands-on Training
    09:30 ~ 16:00 (EST)
Westin Great Southern Columbus | 310 S. High Street | Columbus, OH 43215
Overview

When it comes to load rating curved steel composite girder bridges, the challenge isn’t always about the code — it’s about the tools. AASHTOWare BrR is a trusted go-to for standard geometry, but once you move into complex curvature or non-standard geometry, its limits start to show.

There are workarounds — multiple tools, manual checks — but what if you could use a solution built to align with AASHTOWare standards and designed specifically to handle LRFR for complex bridge geometries?

This hands-on seminar walks you through exactly that — the full load rating process using midas Civil NX. From model setup to rating output, you’ll learn how to tackle real-world bridge configurations with clarity and control.

With all DoT vehicle types preloaded, and features tailored to streamline compliance and reporting, you’ll eliminate manual entry and accelerate your workflow.

Whether you’re rating for maintenance, permitting, or validation, this training delivers the tools and confidence to rate even the most advanced structures — accurately, efficiently, and fully code-aligned.

Who Will Benefit?

Bridge Engineers Working on Non-Standard or Complex Geometries
Learn how to confidently model and rate curved steel composite bridges without oversimplifying the structure or relying on manual checks.

Consultants and contractors handling DOT submissions

Streamline your rating workflow with built-in vehicle libraries and generate reports that align with DOT expectations.

State DOT engineers involved in load rating and compliance
Explore how midas Civil NX supports LRFR methods for advanced geometries when standard tools reach their limits.

What You’ll Discover

1. How to model and rate curved steel composite bridges using midas Civil NX

Step through the full workflow — from geometry setup to analysis and final rating — with a focus on capturing complex load paths and girder behavior accurately.
You’ll see how to avoid common modeling mistakes and ensure your results stand up to review.

2. How to leverage built-in DoT vehicle libraries — including state-specific trucks

Save time and reduce errors by using preloaded LRFR vehicles that match DOT standards out of the box.
You’ll learn how to apply these vehicles across scenarios without custom input or external references.
